Grey Horse Tavern announced it will serve its last meal in early June and that the business and building are up for sale.

Owners Linda Ringhouse Irene Dougal owners are selling the business, they said in a Facebook post:

"The decision has been a difficult one for us, as we recognize a deep appreciation for the hard work and commitment of our dedicated employees. We are grateful for the loyal customers, a mix of locals and visitors, who have supported the business for over 11 years."

"We look back with pride having stayed true to our original intention… renovating this historic building, creating a warm and welcoming 'community house’ for so many to gather and enjoy made-from-scratch meals, great beer and spirits, and amazing live music," the announcement continued.

Hundreds responded to the news. One post said, "You guys are the cornerstone of an amazing community, and I honestly have zero words right now, barring that, I (want to) say that you made my musical life richer than I could’ve ever imagined from the very beginning, and surrounded me with so many warm hearts. I cannot thank you enough."
